Cookies Policy

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored within your internet browser by the websites that you visit. In a similar way to many other websites, Harrods uses cookies to understand more about your visit and help us to enhance your experience.

Functions usually performed by a cookie can be achieved by other means, such as by using pixel tags (or web beacons) in emails. Pixel tags track the number of times an email is opened, the email programme that was used to open the email, when the email was read and what browser was used. Pixel tags also collect device and user information such as IP address and the device used, which is then used to measure and enhance email communications.

The OHA App and Ohainternational.com also use APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). An API is a type of software used to send information back and forth between a website and a user. APIs are used to make the website more interactive and user-friendly.

OHA International use email tracking technologies to create personalised emails and report on the performance of email campaigns. When a user clicks a link or content in an email, we will collect information about the operating system and device used, country the email was opened in  (geolocation) and the email programme used to open the email.
